we love ~ journals | tote bags | writing sets

Roxies & Monies, started by two sisters in Jeffrey's Bay, to enable them to earn a little extra cash and help their community. One look at their website and I was sold! I am especially in love with their journals (for only R30!) and the 'Nerds have more fun' tote bag!

how cute??

the journal I've got my eye on....
Go and have a browse on their website, their stuff is gorgeous and definitely worth a browse :)

we love ~ summery sundays

This past Sunday was the most beautiful day; it simply had to be spent enjoying the best that Cape Town has to offer.
Green Point is one of my favourite places to spent a hot Cape Town day (if I'm not on the beach).
I went with a friend to Hudson's Burger Joint in Somerset Road, Green Point where I had the most delicious burger with avo and feta and bacon, yum!

Cocktails accompanied our meal too - and how good do they look? A Mojito and a Long Island Iced Tea :)

We then ended our day in the sun - out on the deck of Wafu with one more cocktail each :) - another  Long Island Iced Tea and the Passionate Wafu.

BEST Sunday! :)

we love ~ wishlists

Excitement! I am going to Thailand in less than a month for 3 weeks, and I am so unbelievably excited!
Thailand is known not only for its beautiful islands but also for its affordable clothes. Many a shop that have opened up in Cape Town have started by buying beautiful dresses from Thailand.

anyway, the point of this current post is not to make anyone jealous, but to show you my wish list I am putting together for my shopping spree I have planned for our last 3 days in Bangkok....

Desperately want to add a coral jumpsuit to my wardrobe!

lots and lots of summer dresses will be purchased

for this summer season - a vintage-style black 1-piece swimsuit .... dying for one!

one or two or 3 pairs of gorgeous heels

flowy dresses for those summery nights out on the town (love the pleats in this one)

a pair of high-waisted cream shorts, they look so chic on summer days especially with tribal print or black flowy tops

we love ~ summer trends 2011

This post is a collection of the trends and activities I believe are a necessity for the upcoming summer of 2011, I can't wait! :)
Any form of denim is a wardrobe must-have, especially denim dresses or shirts! | parties, nights out and good times with friends are most important | a little bit of formal attire for those nights out on the town <3

Add some adventure to your summer days with exciting activities | a pop of colour makes an average outfit eye-catching | ensure some special memories are made with those special friends in your life | cake! everybody needs cake :)

Cocktails on a hot summers evening is the perfect way to end a hot summers day spent on the beach | chunky heels for those warm sultry nights out dancing the night away are just right | beautiful, feminine hair accessories add sparkle to any outfit.
Days spent hiking, walking, or playing games on the beach are the best when spent with friends and family <3
This summer, not only are jumpsuits hot hot hot, but so are polka dots! get them, in any colour! | add that feminine touch to your dresses (or shorts or skirts or tops) with a touch of lace
leopard print (obviously) | and summer evenings by the sea <3
pleats are so beautiful this summer, not only in black but pastel colours especially | flowers make your home/work look and smell beautiful and brighten up any mood <3
prints are gorgeous this summer in tops and dresses | gladiator sandals are an obvious must-have :)

What are your must-have trends for this summer?

we love ~ print

I love all sorts of print; be it leopard print, floral, polka dots, African/tribal print etc. Especially in summer outfits. A great print dress is easy and simple to wear because it requires very little 'additions' to make it a complete outfit. All it would need is a great pair of sandals and maybe a couple of bracelets and you are good to go! Here are some of my favourite prints of my own mixed with inspirations (courtesy of tumlbr.com)

we love ~ fitness by the sea

Be it Summer or Winter, I love to exercise outside; the gym can be fun, but nothing beats exercising in beautiful surroundings.
I generally run about 6kms about 4 - 5 times a week, and my current favourite spot is the the Promenade in Sea Point. It really is a runners paradise, and and at any time of the day is filled with people running, walking their dogs, pushing their babies in prams, power walking and any other kind of exercise you can think of - I even saw a guy practicing some form of martial arts last week!
However, I recently injured my back sand boarding so for the last couple of days running has been out of the question - but luckily enough I have a special friend who happens to be injured too and so we've taken to 'power walking' the 6kms together, Vida-E coffees in hand. Its actually so much fun, and a rather nice substitute for the running although I can't wait to get back into it!
Anyway, enough rambling, here are some pictures of the beautiful scenery I am lucky enough to see everyday if I so choose :)

Love it - the lady matches the light house :)
