What Shall I Wear Today? - romance in the park

To everyone and anyone reading this - I have been absolutely terrible with my blog maintenance; I have been so out of touch it is ridiculous. However, I do have an excuse, whether it reasonable or not, here goes: After much deliberation I have been saving up for brand new camera, because after looking at the quality of my photos on my blog, I really wasn't happy with them, and I did not want to post further photos with such shocking quality. I finally have my beautiful little camera now - the Sony WX10 and she is beauuuutiful!
Thus I no longer have an excuse not to post on my blog!

The outfit in this post was taken in beautiful park I had no idea existed, even though I've driven past it hundreds of times in Claremont, Cape Town.
It makes fort the most beautiful setting for outfit posts, so I will definitely be using it more in the future!

This is currently one of my favourite in-between-spring-and-summer outfits, and its got such a romantic feel to it; so girly, which I love :)
The pleated midi skirt is from Mr Price, the white cropped shirt from YDE, bag from China Town and bracelet from Woolworths.

What Shall I Wear Today? - leopard, leather, frills & a splash of nature

I have been away for a week in Knysna visiting my mom. The weather was absolutely amazing, and even though it's winter time, we spent some amazing days outside.
I spent one special day being silly in the sun with one of my bestest friends. The Knysna Heads are one of the most beautiful pieces of scenery in Knysna, and a perfect photo backdrop for an outfit post :)

In a previous post which can be viewed here, I spoke about wearing leather jackets and adding a feminine touch to it with a flowy dress (which means we still get to wear our summery pieces in winter!)
I like this outfit because its so nice and bright which matches my mood in the lovely winter sunshine, but it's also warm enough to be comfortable throughout the day.
Also the scarf I've worn above is my new favour wardrobe addition - a leopard print scarf with a few touches of pinky-red which is emphasised my the colour of my dress, absolutely love it :)

Below are a few photos I snapped on a beautiful hike we went on in Robberg, Plett. It is about a four hour hike, and just the most amazing scenery....

we love ~ leopard print

We all know I have a love for anything leopard print - leggings, heels, headbands, anything!
Leopard print has slowly been coming back into the shops, and finally its here in a big way! Woolworth's has scarves, YDE has harem pants, Mr Price has blouses, and they are all too gorgeous for words.
Its not as outrageous as it seems - pairing a leopard print scarf with leggings and a leather jackets is a great winter outfit. Or leopard print heels with a simple outfit is so cute for a night out :)

shoes are actually rather important - who would've thought....

Okay, so I'm not really a 'shoes' kinda girl. I basically own one pair of slip slops from Mr Price, two pairs of heels and a pair of winter boots.
In summer it is basically guaranteed that you"ll find me in my Mr Price slops. I wear them to the beach, shopping, to lunch, to work ... you get the point.
So over the past few weeks or so, I have suddenly become really self conscious about them, and I've been feeling really sloppy. I dont know why its takes me so long to actually realise this, but shoes are truly and important part of any outfit. Don't get me wrong, I did know this, I just for some reason felt it didnt actually apply to me (yes, this is weird I know).
So today I went out and bought a pair of those elastic flats in black. And would you know it - they are SO comfortable and so much better for your feet than a R5o pair of slops!
A very similar shoe to the pair I bought. Gorgeous!
I now feel like my outfit is complete, I feel like I can walk out the door with pride and my feet will thank me later in life!
So do yourself a favour, take a look at your shoes, would you be happy in them you suddenly found yourself out with Kim Kardshian? If not, then perhaps its time to evaluate that shoe wardrobe of yours :)
